Ashihara karate is a modern japanese karate style founded by Hideyuki Ashihara in 1980. Training consists of unarmed standup fighting techiques including punches, kicks, blocks and simple takedowns. Ashihara karate aims for a simple, rational and efficient approach while being safe to its practisioners.


Ashihara karate Finland is a member of New International Karate Organization (NIKO) and Finnish Karate Federation.


Beginners course


Beginners course starts on 11th August 2010. Participants must be 14 years of age. Training sessions take place on Wednesdays and Fridays 17:00-18:30. Sessions will be conducted by Ashihara karate Finland branch chief Sami Sallinen.


Previous experience of martial arts is not necessary and no special equipment or clothing is needed to start the course. The fee for the remainder of year 2010 is 150 €.
